Don’t Tech And Drive

Many know that texting and driving is distracting, dangerous, and in many places, against the law. But distracted driving is more all-encompassing than many initially believe. In fact, distracted driving comes in a variety of forms, many of which involve technology. For instance, 87% of teens admit to Snapchatting while they drive and over 70% admit to changing their music.

These statistics show that it’s not just texting that’s dangerous when behind the wheel; it’s a myriad of other technological behavior, from voice-dictated messaging, to navigation, to apps like FaceTime. One smart way to combat the temptation to tech and drive is to simply put cell phones out of reach from behind the wheel. After all, it’s not solely sufficient to abstain from texting while driving, since any tech use is dangerous and distracting, but most importantly, completely avoidable.
