Parents Warn Of Distracted Driving During 100 Deadliest Days
SAN ANTONIO - On Monday, begins what AAA calls the one hundred deadliest days to be on the road.
That's the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day and according to the state department of public safety, Bexar County ranks number one to distracted driving deaths here in Texas.
And so the families of many of these victims are sharing their stories.
In hopes of preventing future tragedies.
"She was rushed to the hospital but she wasn't able to make," Karin Zaltsman said.
Zaltman's daughter Emily was killed in a suspected distracted driving crash in 2017 on Loop 1604.
"The driver had been going 60 miles per hour and didn't see that traffic was stopped because he was texting and driving," Zaltsman said.
19-months-later, the parents still feel the pain fro ma crash that could have been prevented.
"To say it was the worst day of my life would be an understatement," Tamir Zaltsman said.
