Jordan’s Story
Distracted driving has affected millions of lives. We are thankful to our users who trust us with their story. Today, we want to share Jordan’s story with you!
Jordan took a fun, competitive approach to safe driving upon getting her license. She was determined to be the best, most focused driver with no distractions. Her 7th time on the road was her last. She pulled out to turn left after waiting her turn at a high-traffic stop sign intersection, when the car to her left also started. The car was accelerating quickly, and Jordan was sure that it was going to slow down. “He was driving like I was invisible”, Jordan shared. The car crashed into Jordan’s and she had to be quickly rushed to the hospital to receive immediate medical attention.
“Right before he hit me I could see him through his un-tinted windows. He was on his phone.”
“Every year around 2.5 million people are the subject of a car crash. Of these 2.5 million crashes distracted driving is the leading cause. This can be put into a better perspective when you know that around 1,000 people are injured in a distracted driving-related crash every day” (https://www.teamais.net/blog/10-facts-about-distracted-driving/)
It is crazy to think that Jordan was one of 10,000 individuals involved in a crash the day she was hit. Since Jordan’s wreck, she has been instrumental in motivating her family and other young drivers to stay off their phones and drive undistracted.
We are so thankful for Jordan’s initiative to help end unnecessary tragedies and for her willingness to share her story.
Take the action steps that you can now to prevent yourself from being the person on the other side of the windshield. Have you been impacted by distracted driving? We would love for you to share your story below!
