April: Distracted Driving Awareness Month

Distracted driving has become an epidemic in the United States. It is currently one of the leading causes of preventable deaths in our nation. With technology as engaging and pervasive as ever, driving is getting more and more distracting. Drivers are 6x more likely to be involved in an incident related to distracted driving than they are drunk driving. Thankfully, these incidents are preventable. In order to see tangible change in our communities + nation, the issue must be made known.

On April 1st, 2019, the National Security Council is kicking off Distracted Driving Awareness Month. This united effort to bring awareness to the dangers of distracted driving and ultimately, eliminate preventable deaths, is an effort SAFE 2 SAVE proudly stands behind. Join us in ending the epidemic to create safer roads and communities. Here are some simple ways to get involved:

  • Host a SAFE 2 SAVE Competition amongst your company, school, or organization’s members during Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

  • Spread the word with SAFE 2 SAVE all month long with our #DriveAndDrive campaign. Use this hashtag to encourage drivers to do just that when driving – drive!

  • Already an advocate for ending distracted driving? Become a SAFE 2 SAVE Ambassador to make a difference in your city! Email info@safe2save.org for more information!
